MTI Business Segment: Minteq International Inc.

Position: Shop Supervisor

 

 

Summary

The Shop Supervisor role is responsible for all Steel Mill service operations in the designated area.

This position will require travel.



Responsibilities:
  • supervising MINTEQ employees in applying product
  • maintaining all MINTEQ’s on-site equipment
  • maintaining appropriate records;
  • ensuring that material inventories are maintained, rotated, and updated;
  • maintaining an on-going safety program; entering all safety and OE related data into the MTI System
  • Maintain min/max inventory system with monthly reporting of maintenance cost
  • Maintain a work schedule within the shop that minimizes or eliminates overtime
  • Complete detailed overtime report by pay period with detailed explanation s of OT cause
  • developing additional business in the mill.


Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Five years of related experience in wire products and equipment, shotcrete, Continuous casting, EAF gunning and equipment.  Previous supervisory experience is preferred.  Good mechanical and electrical skills are required; as well as good interpersonal, organization, planning and communication skills.  Must be able to read and understand lasers.  Must be computer literate. 

 

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent required. 

Working Conditions: Must be able to withstand the physical pressures of standing, walking, climbing steps, sitting, extremes of hot and cold, as well as being in a dusty, dirty industrial environment. Must be able to gather organize, and analyze data, draw conclusions, and handle stress. Must wear safety equipment where required.

 

Travel is a requirement of the position.  Must possess a valid driver's license. 

 

Safety Equipment: Must wear all required safety gear.
