Job Description Summary:

The William & Mary Entrepreneurship Hub’s work is supported by a structure that aligns strategic direction, portfolio stewardship, and operational execution.

The Program Manager oversees and executes the delivery of the Hub’s programs and events, translating established program models into coordinated schedules, participant experiences, and reliable execution across a diverse portfolio of initiatives.

This role manages the systems and processes that support program delivery—including participant coordination, event logistics, communications, and supervision of the Hub’s student workforce—ensuring programs run smoothly, consistently, and at a high standard.

The Program Manager works closely with Hub leadership and the Operations & Fiscal Coordinator to ensure programs are executed effectively and aligned with established program structures, budgets, and operational systems.

Job Description:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or relevant experience.

  • Experience in program management, operations, or related leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated experience directly supervising staff or student employees, including setting expectations, providing feedback, and managing performance toward defined deliverables. 

  • Working proficiency in marketing strategy and foundational technology, data, and product principles, with the ability to supervise and assess student-led execution. 

  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and execute in a dynamic environment. 

  • Willingness to work on occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an applicable field.

  • Experience in higher education, entrepreneurship, innovation, or experiential learning environments.

  • Familiarity with assessment, continuous improvement, and process design.

  • Experience working with external partners, mentors, or community organizations.

Conditions of Employment: 

  • This is a non-exempt position, which may be eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Duties

40%- Program & Experience Execution:

  • Manage participant logistics including registrations, rosters, onboarding communications, and session reminders.

  • Coordinate program schedules, speakers, mentors, and session logistics in alignment with program frameworks established by Hub leadership.

  • Prepare and distribute operational materials such as agendas, participant instructions, and event briefings.

  • Ensure programs operate within budget and resource parameters established by the Operations & Fiscal Coordinator.

  • Coordinate operational logistics with the Operations & Fiscal Coordinator, including space scheduling, facilities setup, equipment, and catering. 

  • Execute and oversee Hub-hosted events such as Rocket Pitch, Topic Talk, guest speakers, and similar programming.

Program design, curriculum development, accelerator leadership, and participant selection are led by Hub leadership. 

 

35%- Student Workforce Management:

  • Assign tasks, set timelines, and monitor progress across student workstreams.

  • Review student deliverables and provide feedback to ensure consistent quality and professionalism.

  • Coordinate student staffing for Hub programs and events.

  • Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews to support student development and accountability.

  • Create opportunities for students to practice entrepreneurial thinking skills such as collaboration, self-direction, and grit through real responsibility.

 

15%- Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for speakers, guests, and collaborators participating in Hub programs.

  • Coordinate with internal staff to ensure program roles, expectations, and timelines are clearly communicated.

  • Maintain clear and professional communication with program participants and external stakeholders.

Participant selection, curriculum development, and facilitation of program sessions are led by the Director.

 

10%- Assessment and Continuous Improvement:

  • Track participation, attendance, and engagement across Hub programs and events.

  • Maintain accurate program records and summarize participation data and feedback for leadership review.

  • Identify and implement operational improvements that strengthen program execution and participant experience.

 

Posting Range: $42,500 up to $53,000 commensurate with experience

Additional Job Description:

Applies knowledge of specific program(s) operations and technical aspects to make judgments of quality of services provided.
Applies knowledge of service programs including practices, methods, procedures, regulations, human rights, instruments, and equipment.
Responsibilities include: program planning and development; conducting studies and research; technical training and programmatic assistance; needs assessment and case management; habilitation and rehabilitation service development and implementation; housing, vocational and transportation related services; eligibility determination, program evaluation, client rights and/or grievance resolution; policy development and analysis; inspection and certification; and, coordination of resources.
Certification and/or license may be required.
