Job Title:  Coaching Assistant (employee or volunteer)
Location:  Kuna High School 
Reports:  Principal and Athletic Director
Hours: Part Time

Job Summary:

 The assistant is responsible for assisting in the organization and implementation of a successful program.

 
Qualifications:



  • Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of a program

  • Cleared background investigation

  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below

  • Positive public relations skills

  • Strongly encouraged to complete a coaching principles courses

  • Complete a First Aid Course with CPR component


 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Assist in coordinating development and promotion of the program

  2. Promotes all athletes to participate in sports and activities throughout the school year.

  3. Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions

  4. Adjust coaching techniques, based on the ability of athletes

  5. Assist in arranging and conducting program-specific activities, such as summer training, skills-improvement sessions, and pre-season try-outs.

  6. Instruct athletes in rules, game strategies, and performance principles

  7. Provide training, encouragement, and motivation to prepare athletes for competition

  8. Assist in generating additional funds for support of the program through approved fundraisers.

  9. Carefully operate under state/league/school rules and regulations.

  10. Understand rules and regulations and is in compliance with High school activities (See link:http://www.idhsaa.org/rules/manual.aspx )

  11. Discipline, adjusts grievances and works to increase morale and cooperation.

  12. Deal with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive, encouraging manner.

  13. Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
