Sr. Attorney – Brazil
Position Overview
Lenovo is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to support its services & servers commercial and sales operations in Brazil.
The Counsel will be part of the Latin America Legal Team and will act as a key legal partner to Lenovo’s ISG and SSG business units, with focus in providing support and advice on legal aspects of finance, treasury and commercial operations, enabling compliant deal execution, supporting contract lifecycle management, mitigating risks and analyzing and providing legal advice on new business initiatives while working closely with local specialists, legal counsel in the region as well as with key business units’ counsel such as for Personal Computing Smart Devices (PCSD) and Mobile Business Group (MBG).
This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration, commercial acumen and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Channels, Commercial Operations & Compliance (except MBG)
Provide legal and operational support to Sales Channels and Commercial teams in PCSD, SSG and ISG business units day-to-day activities (except MBG).
Partner with commercial stakeholders in the structuring, review and execution of commercial proposals and sales agreements.
Ensure alignment between commercial terms, financial policies and applicable legal and compliance requirements.
Support the analysis, review and internal approval workflow for non-standard commercial terms.
Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization of commercial and legal support processes.
Provide legal advisory on Civil Law matters across One Lenovo operations (except MBG/Consumer/Marketing).
Support and shadow Public Sector and Bid processes, including legal documentation review, risk assessment and compliance checks.
Identify, assess and help mitigate legal, contractual and compliance risks in commercial operations.
Support internal audits and compliance reviews related to contracts and commercial practices.
Support New Business and Services initiatives, including new commercial models and offerings.
Assess legal, regulatory and operational feasibility of new business opportunities.
Support business case development from a legal and risk perspective.
2. Contracts Support
Work closely with the Global Contracts Team throughout the contract lifecycle
Contribute to the standardization of contractual templates, clauses and governance processes.
3. Treasury, Litigation & Disputes Support
Coordinate legal aspects of treasury-related operations, including judicial bonds, litigation-related payments and compliance with internal policies.
Interface with Finance and Treasury teams to ensure legal compliance in financial and dispute-related processes.
Support legal and financial analysis related to contracts, disputes, deals and new business initiatives.
4. Collections & Accounts Receivable (One Lenovo – except MBG)
Provide legal support to Collections and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities across One Lenovo (except MBG).
Support dispute resolution related to invoicing, contractual payment terms and collection actions, including collection lawsuits.
Partner with Finance to mitigate credit, dispute and enforcement risks.
5. Cross-Functional & One Lenovo Responsibilities
Act as a cross-functional liaison among Legal, Sales, Finance and Operations teams.
Promote and reinforce the One Lenovo mindset across all activities.
Ensure effective communication and alignment between regional and global stakeholders.
Support knowledge sharing, documentation and dissemination of best practices.
Participate in transformation, digitalization and automation initiatives related to legal and business operations.
6. Job Requirements – Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies (KSAC’s):
Bachelor in Law and admission to practice (OAB).
Fluent in English.
Spanish would be an advantage.
Proven experience in commercial and civel law and litigation is a must.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to advocate legal positions, and simplify complex legal issues into coherent, actionable business requirements for non lawyers.
Ability to balance risk allocation and develop mitigation strategies.
Must be a Team player with a high level of autonomy in a virtual environment and able to work under pressure.
Experience engaging with senior executives and business leaders.
Flexible and always open for change.
7. Job Requirements – Prior work experience
8+ years of legal experience.
Technology company background (hardware, software, services) strongly preferred.
8. Educational Requirements:
Law degree in a major university.
9. Travel Requirements:
Flexibility to travel driving withing the State of São Paulo (to Jaguariúna and Indauatuba)
