- Support a variety of transportation and emerging technology engineering, planning and analysis tasks with the goal of developing analytical, technical, social, and ethical skills.
Learn basic principles of transit data, transit fleet and facilities operations, organizational design, fleet engineering, and systems engineering.
- Assist with project research, data analysis, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Responsibilities
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Computer Science, Data Analysis, Transportation Planning, or related, Undergraduate, Masters or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Demonstrated interest in Transportation Planning, Data Analysis and Data Science, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
- Basic proficiency in technical writing, software, spreadsheets, and other office tasks.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
Qualifications
Actively enrolled in an accredited transportation planning, computer science, or related master’s or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
Experience using Power BI, R, SQL, Python, AWS, MS365, Adobe Suite, and other analysis tools used for scripting with office applications.
- Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $19 - $30
