Job Description

Wireline Operator

JOB SUMMARY: Incumbent in this position operates all mechanical wireline equipment on a well head operating site. Work performed includes connecting all hardware, maintaining equipment  and completing all wireline operations according to the customer’s specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and adhere to all Tier 1 Completions Solutions Inc. (Tier 1) policies and procedures, furthermore, understand and adhere to any client’s policies and procedures;
  • Prepares and builds perforating tools;
  • Operates derrick truck, including rigging up and rigging down;
  • Prepares rigging tools in preparation for assigned job;
  • Cleans and maintains wireline trucks;
  • Cleans and performs maintenance work on tools;
  • Operates wireline truck as needed;
  • Completes safety paperwork (explosive paperwork, JSA, worksite safety plan);
  • Completes logbook entries;
  • Assembles guns for upcoming jobs;
  • Prepares Job Safety Analysis forms, identifying potential hazards and making suggestions to mitigate them, and Stop Observation forms summarizing safety training operations;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Prior work experience in wireline operations;
  • Good mechanical aptitude;
  • Basic knowledge of safety requirements and industry practices;
  • Working knowledge of all well forming aspects preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain);
  • Frequent lifting, pushing and pulling (70 pounds);
  • Frequent bending, twisting and standing;
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions;
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week;
  • Exposure to high noise over 85 dba;
  • Working with radiation;
  • Working with explosives;
  • Precise hand eye coordination;
  • Basic keyboard and other skills;
  • Operation of heavy equipment or vehicles.

 Educations, Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred;
  • CDL Hazmat and tank License is an asset;
  • First Aid and CPR certified highly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Results from a pre-employment test must be deemed acceptable in accordance to Tier 1’s policies;
  • 5 years commercial/drivers abstract must be in compliant with Tier 1’s guidelines;
  • Preference will be given to candidates that reside in the immediate area of the position;
  • Ability to travel;
  • Must have the ability to pass a Federal background check;
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States with no restrictions;
  • *Compliance to work in US with explosives (specific documentation).
