Beloit Health System is adding to our team in our Medical/Surgical Unit with immediate openings for a Registered Nurse at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

In this position the Registered Nurse will provide primary nursing care for patients in our fast-paced medical surgical department. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery from a variety of medical or surgical conditions. This Registered Nurse position will administer intermittent and continuous IV medications and monitor condition changes to optimize patient recovery and accurately documenting in the EMR. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, supervises and provides care for clients throughout their life span within the framework of the well/illness continuum. This includes optimal service in a cost-effective manner. In addition, the RN will:
- Appropriately assesses basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families.
- Effectively plans patient care and consistently implements the patient's plan of care.
- Accurately evaluates patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.
- Provides patient/family education appropriately.
- Strictly adheres to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions.
- Completes documentation according to policy.
- Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
- State of Wisconsin RN licensure or nursing compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact nursing license, application for a State of Wisconsin RN license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
- Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
- Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform evaluation, treatment, and patient care for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
- May require working in sometimes stressful conditions or irregular hours.
