Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocational training in traffic enforcement or general law enforcement. 

  • Must have the ability to pass a physical and psychological. 

  • Must pass a drug screen, driving record check, and background check. 

  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license.

Under general supervision by the Assistant of Patrol, the CSO investigates incoming calls for police services of a non-emergency nature: responds to calls regarding traffic accidents, traffic complaints, property damage, public service duties, stranded motorists, or other problem situations; provides assistance during major emergencies or natural disasters as needed.  Writes reports, assists with Fleet maintenance, orders equipment and schedules patrol vehicles for routine maintenance.  Performs other duties as assigned.
