FINANCE SUPPORT & HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST
Work Schedule: 12-month/240 Days Commensurate with qualifications and experience Exemption Status: Non-exempt
JOB OVERVIEW
The Finance Support & Human Resources Specialist plays a critical dual role in supporting the organization's finance operations and human resources. This position is responsible for managing accounts payable processes while also providing essential clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Coordinator. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
Three to five (3-5) years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proficient in computer systems and technology applications.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
ability to access information in multiple formats to perform job responsibilities.
Communicates effectively and professionally through in-person, electronic, and telephonic formats.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Accounts Payable Functions:
Processes check requests and expense reports in a timely manner
Reviews, codes, and accurately processes vendor invoices.
Performs monthly account reconciliations.
Maintains vendor accounts in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Performs data entry related to accounts payable functions.
Investigates and resolves invoice discrepancies.
Audits and processes credit card statements.
Responds to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly.
Human Resources Support:
Provides clerical and administrative support to the HR Coordinator.
Compiles and maintains employee records (electronic and hard copy).
Enters and manages data in critical databases.
Prepares reports related to personnel activities (e.g., recruitment, staffing, evaluations).
Coordinates communication with candidates and schedules interviews.
Assists with sourcing candidates and updating applicant tracking systems.
Prepares licensure documentation for HR Coordinator approval.
Processes employee resignations and distributes exit interview surveys.
Schedules and coordinates background check appointments.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
