Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY


The Clinic CMA is responsible for administering patient care services in the clinic facility and assisting the Registered Nurse in care of the more acutely ill. Documents patient condition changes in charts, records, vital signs, administers medication and vaccinations, and provide basic care while working closely with medical providers.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES



  • Perform and document patient assessments in a timely manner.

  • Assist physician during treatment and examination of patient.

  • Secure and return supplies, maintains room stock and practice sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination following policies and procedures.

  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness, including provision for the contamination free condition of rooms, equipment, and personnel. 

  • Perform emergency treatment as required. Identify and recognize abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition, establish priorities, and take appropriate action.  Appropriately report condition changes to medical provider.

  • Actively participate in department quality assurance and organizational performance improvement activities.


 


Hours: Minimum 36 hours/week, Monday-Friday, rotating weekends and holidays; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

QUALIFICATIONS


Education, Experience:



  • Complete a Medical Assistant certification program

  • Prior clinic experience, preferred


Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:



  • Currently certified as a Medical Assistant

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
