The Senior Project Planner/Scheduler conducts planning/scheduling for assigned bids/projects/programs against a baseline (also known as a Performance Measurement Baseline – PMB) to enable effective monitoring and control of tasks and deliverables, schedule risks, workload and costs. The Manager Planner/Scheduler may also conduct workload consolidation for a specific perimeter. In order to do this, the Senior Project Planner must have expertise in program/project management structures and baselines, and control the use of PERT, Critical Path and Schedule Risk Analysis. Must be knowledgeable in claims, extension of time and delay analysis from a schedule perspective and working knowledge of schedule acceleration concepts.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Project Planner, you are accountable for:

  • Maintenance of relevant project management artefacts such as the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS), Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM), Control Account and Work Package Description Documents (CADDs/WPPDs), etc
  • Planning and scheduling the scope of work within the Project Management tool (i.e. Primavera), developing / implementing and maintaining the PMB, analysing variances in the first instance to understand and support BM/PM/CAM/WPM in reporting
  • Preparation of PMO monthly reporting inputs for Control Account / Work Package / Project / Programme dashboards
  • Implementation of EV methods and reporting if required
  • Provide required deliverables to the customer as contracted (CWBS, CMS, input to contract status reports)
  • Drive the development and maintenance of the PMB and actively participate in the Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) as required
  • Actively support the development and maintenance of Risk & Opportunities
  • Drive the development and maintenance of the Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) for the Project
  • Conduct schedule health checks on bids/project/programs using DCMA 12 point check and/or Acumen Fuse or similar
  • Adhere to the relevant project management processes and procedures
  • Perform Deep analysis of the CAM and WPM workload and financial data to support the EAC reviews

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

  • Qualification in Business or Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Project planning and Controls and Project Management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the project management lifecycle
  • Working knowledge in Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera and Scheduling Tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Open Plan ...)
  • Basic knowledge of schedule health check process or tools (e.g. Defence Contracting Agency (DCMA) 12 point check and Acumen Fuse)
  • Scheduling – Program Evaluation & Review Technique (PERT) and Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis

GOOD TO KNOW
Prior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks. Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance.
