Cogent, Inc. is seeking a Controls & Integration Project Manager to join our team in St. Louis. The Controls and Integration Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of Controls Systems Integration projects across the Cogent footprint. Technical skills include ability to review electrical drawings, understand equipment specifications, SCADA and telemetry, troubleshooting capabilities, and computer skills. This role is collaborative and involves daily interaction with Outside Sales, Inside Sales, Controls Systems Integration Engineers (Execution), Operations teams, Customers, Vendors, and subcontractors. The Controls and Integration Project Manager is expected to exemplify Cogent’s core values and consistently follow company policies and processes.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in research for bids, projects and executable work
- Gathers, organizes, interprets and collates data from bid information systems
- Work with the Safety Manager to ensure project cost projections include costs required to complete the projects in accordance with all safety standards
- Work with Sales and Service Managers to determine appropriate opportunities that match Cogent strategy, understand all project constructions site rules and procedures and incorporate into cost projections
- Maintain accurate and complete quote and bid documentation
- Review and approval of Controls System Integration project cost projections
- Ensure bids and proposals are professional, accurate, and well-presented
- Reviews project requirements and translate into specifications and/or system requirements
- Coordinates submittal schedule and accuracy
- Provides technical support to Outside Sales, Inside Sales and Customers by answering questions regarding controls equipment, installation, operation, maintenance and problem resolution
- Quantifies and coordinates committed work hours
- Defines, identifies and schedules personnel and resources required for projects and site activities while coordinating with work backlog
- Coordinates ordering equipment with Operations Team
- Communicate with vendors, maintain relationships, and manage based on project requirements
- Coordinate with assigned Controls personnel to ensure work is performed within the scope of the contract.
- Manage third-party subcontractors, including selection, coordination, and clearly defined scopes of work
- Identifies and communicates change orders to Outside Sales
- Manage “Work in Progress” cost projections through project execution
- Develop ongoing strategies and tools to increase project profitability
- Prioritize and conduct daily activities in a way that exemplifies the Cogent core values
- Prioritize and conduct daily activities in support of overall Cogent market growth in the defined geography
- Promote and drive all Cogent Operational and Safety requirements, policies, and processes
- Ensure all closeout documentation and final deliverables are completed to avoid delays in final payment
Other Responsibilities
- Provide support for Outside Sales and customers by answering questions regarding equipment, installation, operation, maintenance and problem solving
- May travel to evaluate potential projects
- Performs other duties as assigned by Cogent Senior Management Leadership Team
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of administrative processes, policies and procedures related to Outside Sales, Controls Systems Integration Engineers (Execution), Operations departments and material flow
- Knowledge of electrical equipment, SCADA and telemetry, and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of the Cogent Brand product line card
- Understanding of estimating, scheduling and coordinating
- Understanding of Salesforce and workflow processes
