Job Description

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate a variety of equipment including excavators, rollers, loaders, dozers, skidsteers, etc. on construction projects including but not limited to heavy highway, airports, bridges, landfill remediation, etc. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Operates various equipment including excavators, rollers, loaders, dozers, skidsteers, etc. on a variety of construction projects including but not limited to heavy highway, airports, bridges, landfill remediation, etc.

  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on equipment such as checking oil, water, and tires.

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

  • Maintains a clean and secure jobsite

  • Demonstrates adherence to Rifenburg Safety Rules, Regulations, and internal procedures.

  • Demonstrates adherence to Rifenburg core values to foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION 

This position requires extensive knowledge of heavy equipment operations within the construction industry, or similar role. 5-10 years’ experience required.


REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities; including GPS

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Excellent communication skills with a willingness to lead, follow, or share instruction.

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

 

 

Qualified Applicants may be called by the Division Manager throughout the season as our work load requires. (Experienced applicants with OSHA 10 Certification will be called first)
