Alaska Gear Company is seeking a self-motivated videographer and content producer who is a hands-on marketing professional with an equal passion for brand building and the outdoors. In this role, you will serve as the point person for
capturing, editing, and producing high-impact video and photo content, with a strong emphasis on creating social media assets, product overviews, and real-world product-in-use content filmed on location.

You will be responsible for conceiving, managing, and executing product and lifestyle photography, as well as a variety of in-studio and in-the-field photo shoots. The content produced will be designed to elevate overall brand awareness while equally
strengthening product awareness—driving clear, compelling visual communication to both current and prospective customers.

This position will report directly to the Marketing Director.

• Photography & Videography: Skilled in all aspects of photo and video production, including shooting, lighting, editing, and postproduction.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex projects, from initial concept to final delivery, with strong organizational and time-management skills. This includes file naming conventions, pre-production briefs, post-production presentations, and proper storing and deliverable distribution
• Creative Direction: Strong creative vision and ability to produce and guide others to achieve various visual deliverables.
Creative direction is a collaborative effort involving Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Social Media Managers.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with photography and video equipment, software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), and image/video editing workflows.
• Brand Guidelines and Deliverable Architecture Proficiency: The employee is required to thoroughly understand and follow the brand guidelines, North Star Aesthetic, production processes, and deliverable guidelines that have been established by the Marketing and Creative teams.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external teams based on briefs and production schedules created by the content producer.
• Problem-Solving & Innovation: Demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to challenges and develop efficient workflows to improve productivity

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field .
• 2-5 years of related work experience, preferably in the outdoor industry and commercial photography.
• Experience in the outdoor industry is highly preferred.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross functionally.
• Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take direction well and experience with constructive creative critique.
• Ability to develop creative briefs, lead photo/video shoots on site and in the field, direct and produce a wide range of content shoots, and present to executive-level leadership.
• Ability to adapt quickly to time-sensitive events that require reprioritization of tasks and deliverables. This can include on-site content creation and/or off-site travel.
• Ability to effectively work in an office environment in order to meet with team members and cross departments, present deliverables, concept content, and marketing campaigns, and edit photos and video.
• Experience in traveling to remote backcountry locations and effectively creating deliverables in a wide range of weather conditions.
