The Clean Energy Project Manager will develop and enhance the portfolio of products and applications under the Customer Energy Solutions (CES) Customer Analytics, Reporting, and Engagement (CARE) program. The CARE program seeks to enable the clean energy future through digital products and tools that support our customers and our business programs.
This role will be accountable for developing the long-term product strategy and roadmap based on business and regulatory priorities. The Project Manager will participate in draft RFP documents, contractor and software selection, and ad-hoc reporting of the CARE project. The Project Manager will meet with key vendors and internal stakeholders to understand business and regulatory priorities and collaborate with the Product Owners for prioritization and integration of user requirements. The Project Manager will also support user engagement and change management practices to drive adoption of CARE products. The candidate will monitor key clean energy issues, collaborate with businesses to understand how they plan on operationalizing policy issues, and identify areas that require CARE customer experience product development. The Project Manager must demonstrate a high regard for personal accountability and the ability to deliver comprehensive analysis of programs and products that drive business performance. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop a functional comprehension of the various CES business processes and programs.
Responsibilities
- The Project Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the long-term product strategy and roadmap for CARE based on business and regulatory priorities. The role will meet with internal stakeholders to understand business and regulatory priorities and collaborate with the Product Leads for prioritization and integration of user requirements.
- The Project Manager will participate in draft RFP documents, contractor and software selection, and ad-hoc reporting of the CARE project.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory policy, and utility best practices related to electrification, customer programs, and energy services. Provide strategic recommendations based on benchmarking and market insights.
- Lead analysis of regulatory proceedings, policy developments, and legislative initiatives related to electrification, affordability programs, and customer programs that impact CARE. Translate regulatory requirements into strategic product recommendations and roadmap priorities in collaboration with clean energy program partners.
- Support engagement with industry working groups, and external stakeholders to monitor policy developments, share program insights, and represent CARE program perspectives where appropriate.
- Evaluate CARE program performance using data, customer feedback, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for program improvements, policy alignment, and customer value creation.
- Prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders and provide high level summaries as needed.
- Communicate insights from market research, benchmarking, and analytics to business users and decision makers.
- Provide customer service support on escalated CARE issues, as necessary.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
- Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of experience or
- Master's Degree and two (2) years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, environmental science or other technical major and 5 - 7 years of experience
- Master's Degree Business Administration, Engineering, or other technical discipline and 2 years of experience in utility, clean energy, or sustainability
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build a consensus through collaboration with various stakeholders, required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, required.
- Experience developing customer experience digital products, required.
- Demonstrated experience developing short and long-term strategies and roadmaps, required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), required.
- Ability to collaborate with employees within the team and across the organization at all levels of management, required.
- Self-motivated with a passion for clean energy and problem solving, required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of New York States regulatory landscape and key policy issues, required.
- Experience with decarbonization, building electrification, and/or renewable energy, required.
- Understanding of clean energy programs, business processes, and/or work flows, preferred.
- Experience working with and presenting to executive stakeholders, preferred.
- Demonstrated project management and/or contract management experience; PMP certification a plus, preferred.
- Experience in planning, managing, coordinating, reviewing, and processing budgets and invoices, preferred.
- Experience managing contracts and implementation vendors, preferred.
- Experience developing project implementation plans and drafting regulatory reports and filings, preferred.
- Experience negotiating contracts with clear deliverables, milestones, and commercial terms, preferred.
- Driver's License Required
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
