TARGET RANGE SCHOOL


POSITION DESCRIPTION


 


JOB TITLE:     Elementary Teacher (4th grade)


                      Start date: Beginning of the 2026-2027 school year


 


REPORTS TO: Building Principal


 


SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT:


Create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability; and establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.


 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Valid Montana teaching licensure with an elementary endorsement


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience teaching at the elementary level

  • Experience teaching a multi-age classroom

  • Experience teaching in a remote, technology-based learning environment

  • Experience with and demonstrated ability to supervise/coach extra-curricular activities/athletics

  • Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers

  • Evaluates academic and social growth of pupils to prescribed criteria and keeps appropriate records

  • Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned school day

  • Plans and coordinates the work of parent assistants and volunteers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


This type of work involves walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time as required by situations of job position. Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral and written information, the manual dexterity to move related equipment, and the skills necessary to handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
