Discover Washington Learning Center, our exceptional early learning center designed for preschool and kindergarten students, complemented by a community education center. At Jefferson Elementary, we cater to students in grades 1-4 with a focus on small group instruction, a responsive classroom environment, and enriching STEM opportunities, all aligned with a robust core curriculum. Our middle school program for grades 5-8 emphasizes advisory, exploratory, and hands-on learning experiences. For high school students in grades 9-12, we offer an extensive range of college, vocational, and work-ready courses to prepare them for future success. Additionally, students have access to numerous fine arts and athletic programs. Our Career Technical Education (CTE) Center provides invaluable opportunities in fields such as automotive, welding, manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, construction, and cabinetry.

AVAILABLE POSITION � Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Teacher

Location � Jefferson Elementary, 318 S Payne Street, New Ulm, MN 56073

Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education, ABS or ASD preferred
• Experience working with students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
• Knowledge of IEP implementation, data collection, and progress monitoring
• Knowledge of service delivery models and supporting the continuum of special education
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators from diverse cultures
• Ability to problem solve with staff and teams

Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction aligned to each student's IEP goals and ESY service plan
• Implement specialized instructional strategies, accommodations, and behavior supports
• Ability to train and guide paraprofessionals
• Knowledge of district special education programs
• Understanding and experience in assessment and data-driven decision-making
• Collect and document data on student progress toward IEP goals
• Collaborate with related service providers and ESY staff
• Maintain compliance with IDEA, state statute, district policy, and student confidentiality requirements
• Communicate appropriately with families regarding schedules and general progress
• Participate in required ESY planning and closing documentation

Start Date � As agreed upon; to be determined

Compensation Package � Position offers a wage range of $34.24 - $57.73 per hour, based on education and experience. No additional benefits package is offered with this position.
