Modesto City Schools is a Pre-K through 12th grade district, serving approximately 30,000 students. The District is one of the largest employers in Stanislaus County, with over 3,200 employees. It is divided into three divisions: Business Services, Educational Services and Human Resources. An Associate Superintendent oversees each division and a variety of programs, such as Early Childhood Education, Child Welfare & Attendance, Special Education, Nutrition Services and Transportation.

Modesto City Schools also offers an Induction Program with a state approved curriculum by which new teachers attain their Professional Clear Credential. Licenses/Certificates/Permits
Minimum Requirements: Instructional Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate, or equivalent. District-approved Restraint Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of employment and renewed as required.

Minimum Requirement: Experience working with school age students, or verifiable units in child development or related field; High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) Certificate; Completion of forty-eight (48) units of higher education study or obtained an AA degree or successfully passed the Modesto City Schools Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Assessment Exam. District-approved Restraint Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of employment and renewed as required.

Classified full-time new hires have a district benefits cap of $14,400 annually for any employee or employee + 1 dependent or $17,400 annually for any employee + family (2 or more dependents).
