The ASN Program Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the Ability Sport Network (ASN) grant. ASN encourages participation in adapted physical activity among North Alabama middle and high school students with physical disabilities.
Duties / Responsibilities:
• Learn relevant UAH business processes and policies in order to assist with grant operations, such as purchasing, travel, facility reservations, budget querying, and youth protection.
• Help organize and attend community outreach initiatives, including professional development events, disability sport clinics, and the upcoming 2026 Paracycling Symposium.
• Assist the ASN Director in preparing adapted sports equipment, uniforms, and other materials needed for ASN practices and games. This may include basic maintenance of the equipment, which the Assistant will be trained to perform.
• Promote awareness of adapted sport and physical activity. Post on social media and maintain the ASN website.
• Contribute to the overall success of the grant programs by working closely with all program staff and by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
• High school education or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of full-time verifiable work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings or weekends as necessary for practices, games, or special events.
• Valid Driver’s License.
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience (academic, work, or personal) related to adapted sports, physical disabilities, sports management, grant management, event planning, or another related field.
Published Salary (if available):
$17.50 - $19.00 an Hour
