About this Position


Position Overview: Langston University’s English and Foreign Languages Department is currently seeking qualified instructors to teach courses in English and Spanish and contribute to the academic mission of Langston University. Courses will be offered primarily  in person, with the potential option for online, depending on departmental needs.


Adjunct Professors will deliver high-quality instruction, engage students in meaningful learning experiences, and contribute to the academic mission of Langston University. Courses will be offered primarily in person, with the potential option for some online instruction, depending on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in assigned specialization areas of English or Spanish; develop and deliver course material that meet departmental and university standards; foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports diverse learners; assess student performance through assignments, exams, and other evaluative, multimodal measures; and hold office hours.


Required Qualifications



  • A minimum of a master’s degree in the discipline for which the applicant is applying (e.g. English or foreign language (Spanish), college teaching experience preferred; (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • ability to demonstrate use of technology in the classroom

  • ability to communicate well and employ teaching methods that engage students from traditionally underrepresented populations to support student development and foster academic excellence.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the subject matter and the ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.

  • Previous college-level teaching experience.

  • Experience with online or hybrid teaching environments.
