About the Role
The Vice President of Accounting is responsible for leading Wildpack’s accounting organization and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and scalability of the company’s financial reporting and accounting operations.
Reporting to the CTO, this role oversees all accounting functions including financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, internal controls, and financial close processes across multiple manufacturing facilities.
The VP, Accounting will play a critical leadership role in strengthening the company’s accounting infrastructure as Wildpack continues to scale. This individual will lead and develop the accounting team while partnering closely with finance, operations, and executive leadership to ensure financial insight supports operational performance and strategic growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong experience in manufacturing environments, deep expertise in cost accounting and inventory accounting, and the leadership capability to build high-performing teams.
A Day in the Life: What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team across multiple locations.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish scalable processes and team structures to support business growth.
- Partner with theCEO,CTOand leadership team to ensure alignment between accounting operations and company strategy.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead the financial close process and ensuretimelyandaccuratereporting.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and public company reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and advisors during audit processes.
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
- Oversee cost accounting processes across manufacturing facilities.
- Ensureaccurateinventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and margin reporting.
- Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve visibility into manufacturing costs and operational drivers.
- Implement and improve systems and processes that strengthen cost tracking and operational financial reporting.
Operational Partnership
- Work closely with Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain leaders to ensure financial alignment with operational performance.
- Providefinancial insights that support operational efficiency and decision making.
- Help translate financial data into meaningful insights for leadership teams.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Identifyopportunities to improve accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes.
- Lead initiatives to strengthen financial infrastructure and automation.
- Ensure accounting processes can scale effectively as the company continues to grow.
Qualifications: What You Know
- CPA designationrequired.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
- Experience in manufacturing, CPG, or operationally complex environments.
- Strongexpertisein cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experienceoperatingwithin a public company environment or with public reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Strong business acumen and ability to partner effectively with executive leadership.
