We have an exciting opportunity for an Equine Veterinarian (100%) to join our enthusiastic team. Based in the beautiful Manawatu, New Zealand, this is your chance to join a team passionate about the equine industry.

Totally Vets is a dynamic veterinary company, providing services and products in the Manawatu, Levin, Horowhenua, Taumarunui and Tararua areas for companion animals, equine, and production animals.

Our business thrives on talented people providing superior care and advice for the health, wellbeing and performance of animals. Our business is committed to achieving a challenging mission, Healthy Animals, Healthy People, Healthy Communities. When you join us, you become part of that effort.

You will be a dynamic equine clinician with a passion for the equine industry and experience with sport and recreation horses primarily. With excellent time management and interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to quickly build good relationships with clients and provide an exceptional and professional service. You will be required to participate in the after-hours roster (also 100% equine and shared with a neighbouring clinic) and attend race duty if required.

In return we can offer you:

  • Training and support through the Totally Vets Group and opportunities for developing your skills in a range of areas
  • A friendly, professional and family oriented practice
  • Support to learn and develop your own ideas
  • Great community spirit with plenty of local activities
  • A competitive remuneration package based on ability and experience

Our Palmerston North clinic is primarily made up of both equine and production animal veterinarians supported by a skilled business support team. Our equine work is predominantly ambulatory, but we can receive clients into the clinic where we have an equine crush and yarding/paddock facilities.

Our diagnostic tools include endoscopy, recently upgraded ultrasound and digital x-ray. We have also recently upgraded our equine dental equipment, including HDE Polyfloat, dental oroscope and HDE intra-oral extraction kit.
