Job Summary

Job Summary

·         Provide NRH with a single source of contact for professional support pertaining to networking engineering matters.

·         Develop and maintain standards, procedures, training documentation, and other standardized tools with the support and involvement of Communications Services clients

·         Review and identify strategic opportunities for applying new and current technology resources to best help NRH achieve its goals and to accomplish this in accordance with the HIT strategic plan.

·         Contribute to the HIT's project management system by reporting project progress and resource utilization in an accurate and timely manner, using departmental standard mechanisms where appropriate.

·         Support the hardware and software environments at NRH and develop and enforce standards consistent with these environments.

·         Provide maximum availability of the networks and assigned networked systems to Communications Services clients

·         Work closely with the Help Desk to resolve client problems in a timely and efficient manner.


Qualifications

Education

  • B. S. degree in computer or information science or equivalent network support related experience.  Advanced knowledge of network topologies and architecture including cabling, hardware, and software.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in network design, and support, preferably a Cisco based network.  Experience with network diagnostic tools, such as sniffers, Microsoft Server, DHCP and DNS.   Experience leading or participating in team and committee activities.

Licensure/Certification

  • Cisco certifications or equivalent
