The SFU Beedie Office of International Programs (OIP) leads the development and delivery of global learning experiences for the School, supporting students, staff, and faculty across all campuses. Working collaboratively with SFU units and international academic partners, the Office designs, delivers, and manages a range of programs, including study abroad and exchange opportunities, faculty-led initiatives, and on-campus international programming for both undergraduate and graduate students. Through these efforts, OIP enhances the academic experience and supports the development of a global perspective among students.
About the Role
The Coordinator, International Programs plays a central role in the planning, delivery, and ongoing expansion of the Merrill Family Global Campus Experience (MFGCE), SFU Beedie’s flagship faculty -led international program. This position is responsible for coordinating the operational, logistical, and student -facing components of MFGCE, working closely with Faculty Leads, students, and international partners to ensure high-quality program delivery and a strong student experience.
A key focus of the role is the continuous development and growth of MFGCE offerings, including supporting new program locations, refining program design, and enhancing pre-departure and re-entry initiatives. The role also contributes to broader global learning experiences, supporting the Office of International Programs’ efforts to expand access and participation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline, and two years of related experience in coordinating the administration and delivery of custom credit and/or non-credit programs, including experience in event planning, program/project management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver complex programs, including managing logistics, timelines, and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, faculty, and partners.
- Proven organizational and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to provide student advising and support, including responding to diverse needs and navigating sensitive or complex situations.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise judgement in dynamic and fast paced environments.
