Job Purpose
The Flight Test Engineering Planner supports flight test operations by developing and maintaining high‑quality planning documentation and work instructions that enable safe, efficient, and on‑schedule aircraft testing. This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Flight Test teams to integrate design changes and support development and certification activities.
Key Accountabilities
- Create and maintain installation, assembly, fabrication, and modification work instructions supporting Flight Test schedules.
- Maintain and update master build sequences and planning documentation in Teamcenter.
- Review Engineering releases and plan incorporation of engineering changes for flight test aircraft.
- Support corrective actions and quality notifications by updating work instructions as needed.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Flight Test teams to reduce rework and improve efficiency.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or Engineering Technology) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, assembly, fabrication, or installations.
- Experience creating clear visual and/or written work instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Teamcenter, CATIA, SAP, or similar systems preferred.
- Flight Test or aerospace experience preferred.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing and aircraft environment with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and aircraft equipment.
- Physical activity including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching.
- Occasional overtime or off‑shift support to meet Flight Test schedules.
