Job Description

ABM is hiring a One-Man Plant Engineer who is a fully licensed engineer responsible for the complete operation and maintenance of a building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

 

Pay: $62.58/ Hourly

The pay listed is the Salary or Hourly range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program

 

Benefit Information:

 This is a union position and as such, will include union benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

 

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7AM - 3PM

 

Location: Pasadena, CA

 

Requirement: BOMA Certification 



Major Duties & Responsibilities

Operate and maintain all building equipment to ensure operation within design capabilities and to achieve proper environmental conditions as prescribed by building management.

Perform preventive maintenance per ABM Engineering Services' and manufacturers' recommendations.
 
Maintain a professional appearance of all equipment and engineering spaces.
 
Implement and maintain an energy management program to operate all systems efficiently and minimize operating costs.
 
Regularly review building operations, preventive maintenance, training, energy management, and equipment status in coordination with the ABM Engineering Services Branch Manager.

  • Specific Engineering Duties

    The Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the following systems and equipment:

    Boilers & Heating Systems

  • Operate, maintain, and repair all boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, appurtenances, and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.
  • Refrigeration Systems

  • Operate, maintain, and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves, and float valves, along with all refrigerant lines and temperature control devices.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair pumps handling brines or other secondary refrigerating liquids, along with all related valves, appurtenances, and lines.
  • Air & Gas Systems

  • Operate, maintain, and repair air compressors, distribution lines, and all valves and control devices.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair natural and manufactured gas distribution lines, including all valves and control devices.
  • Plumbing & Water Systems

  • Operate, maintain, and repair water filters, softeners, piping, and pumps used in water distribution, including all sinks, toilet bowls, supply lines, drains, and water lines.
  • Maintain and repair sanitary sewer systems, including sump pumps, basins, water closets, urinals, and piping.
  • Electrical Systems

  • Operate, maintain, and repair all electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors, and fans.
  • Maintain electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building's lighting, mechanical, plumbing, and control components, including lighting maintenance.
  • Fuel Systems

  • Operate, maintain, and repair fuel oil systems, including pumps, valves, lines, controls, and fuel tanks.

  • Maintain and repair trash compactors, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain and repair kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain life safety and security systems.
  • Seasonal & Preventive Maintenance

  • Maintain proper operation during seasonal changes and recalibrate controls to ensure energy-efficient operation.
  • Maintain all equipment in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance Program and manufacturer service specifications.
