Job Description

PAY RANGE:

$18.00 - $36.50 Hourly

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans and leads movement/motor skill development activities in a sports/field setting – providing a safe and nurturing environment for children of various ages ranging from preschool through high school. Work as part of a staff team to support the growth of each child and building a relationship with each family. Reports directly to the Membership Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Sets up age appropriate physical environment to meet the needs of children – modifiable as age groups change
  2. Plans sports skill stations and daily plan
  3. Greets children and parents as they arrive
  4. Interacts with children at all times
  5. Provides information to parents regarding their child(ren), Y programs and
    resources
  6. Puts away equipment at the end of last class
  7. Reports any equipment safety concerns to supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills/Knowledge:
  1. Basketball knowledge required
  2. Some knowledge of preschool, school age, and/or high school participants is preferred.
  3. Some knowledge of working with parents/families preferred
Education/Training:
  1. High School diploma or GED
  2. TB Clearance
  3. Background in sports, coaching, and/or instructing preferred
  4. Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
