The Opportunity

We are looking for a Member of Technical Staff QA with experience in Kubernetes, automation development, test strategizing and mentorship skills to be part of our dynamic and growing team. Candidates must have experience working with a team of engineers whilst ensuring the top quality of the product. The ability to think 'outside the box' is crucial in designing test cases to adequately and quickly assess the integrity of the product.

Your Role

  • Design, develop, and enhance a Python‑based QA automation framework, including test orchestration tools for scalable and efficient execution in Kubernetes and hybrid cloud environments
  • Define and drive high‑level test strategies based on product architecture and requirements, covering automation, system testing, and manual exploratory testing
  • Execute and automate large‑scale customer deployment scenarios (for example: multi‑node Kubernetes clusters, stateful workloads, databases, enterprise applications)
  • Extend existing automation frameworks and engineering productivity tools to support evolving cloud‑native and hybrid cloud product portfolios
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure testable designs, introduce test hooks where required, and align on schedules and delivery plans

  • Perform deep failure analysis across distributed systems, determine root causes, and clearly define expected behavior based on product requirements
  • Develop and execute manual and automated tests to detect defects and prevent regressions through continuous test execution
  • File high‑quality defects, track them to closure, and partner with engineers to validate fixes
    Work with multiple engineering and cross‑functional teams in parallel, including globally distributed teams 

  • Mentor junior engineers, review test code and strategies, and continuously improve QA processes for scale and efficiency

What You Will Bring

  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies and test automation practices for complex software systems
  • Advanced Python automation skills, including framework design and OOP‑based abstractions
  • Hands‑on experience testing distributed and scalable systems, preferably cloud‑native platforms
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, including pods, services, deployments, stateful workloads, and cluster‑level behaviors
  • Experience designing test plans and test strategies for large, multi‑component systems
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills across logs, metrics, and distributed failures
  • Ability to work independently while guiding and mentoring junior engineers
  • Excellent collaboration skills and comfort working with multiple teams across time zone 

  • Testing experience in one or more of the following areas:
    * Storage systems, file systems, or databases
    * Virtualization or hypervisors
    * Networking or network virtualization
  • Experience testing hybrid cloud or multi‑cluster Kubernetes environments

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
