    POSITION:    12-Month, 8-hour, Evening Shift Custodian, Area #2 (Mon-Fri) @ LHS
        
    SHIFT TIMES:

                          Begin Work - 3:00 P.M. 
                          Lunch - 7:00 PM - 7:30 P.M. (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
                          Finish Work - 11:30 P.M.

    QUALIFICATIONS:    Must have passed the custodian test given by the district.
                         
    BID DATE OPENING:    Noon, Monday, April 27, 2026 through
                                           Noon, Thursday, April 30, 2026.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Logan High School  -  Area #2
    Custodial Service � Building Responsibilities

    TITLE:    Custodian � Evening Shift; Group Restrooms / Hallways & Event Coverage

    QUALIFICATIONS:    This position requires that the person:

    1. Have a thorough knowledge of approved cleaning procedures and the care of school buildings and grounds.
    2. Be able to make minor repairs as needed.
    3. Be able to conduct themselves properly around students and the general public.
    4. Be in proper physical condition to perform the regular duties plus be able to climb and lift at least 50 LB.
    5. Must have good attendance.


    REPORTS TO:    Building Principal in cooperation with the Supervisor of Building and Grounds

    CONTRACT STATUS:    12 Month

    TIME SCHEDULE:     8 Hours per day; Monday - Friday

                          Begin Work - 3:00 P.M. 
                          Lunch - 7:00 PM - 7:30 P.M. (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
                          Finish Work - 11:30 P.M.

    GENERAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

    1. Care of the building
    2. Cleanliness and sanitation of building
    3. Economical and efficient use of supplies and the inventory of supplies and equipment
    4. Safety and health of pupils and teachers
    5. Removal of all fire hazards
    6. Obtaining permission of building Principal before leaving the building during working hours
    7. Exhibiting good public relations
    8. Cooperating with Building Principal and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds
    9. Keeping incidental items in repair
    10. Taking care of all emergencies and minor repairs
    11. Being available when activities are held in the building
    12. Performing duties aside from routine, which may need attention
    13. Cleaning windows
    14. Keeping outside area clean
    15. Maintaining a clean and neat custodial storage area
    16. Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds



    SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:

    A.  GROUP RESTROOMS

    1.    Rooms: 138, 140, 162, 164, 238, 240, 262, 264, 308, 310, 405, 407, 420, 422

    a    Empty wastebaskets, replace liners as needed.
    b.    Clean and disinfect all fixtures, partitions, and floors using a high-pressure restroom machine.
           Clean mirrors. 
    d.   Clean, paper towel dispenser.
          Clean, disinfect drinking fountains.
          Restock paper products.

    Note:  Rooms 420 & 422 will only be used for football and capacity indoor crowds.


    B.   HALLWAYS

    1.    Areas:  103, 105, 110, 135, 150, 203, 204, 210, 235, 251, 267,
                             301, 305, 328, 328C, 330, 401, 412, 417, 417A, 419, 419A

                  a.    Clean hallways daily using a power scrubber.

                  b.     Record operating time & recharge batteries as required.
            
    C.  WATER COOLERS

                   a.    Clean & disinfect water coolers daily.

              
    D.   MAIN GYM

                  a.    Clean main gym floor daily.
                  b.    Check bleachers for trash.


    E.   EVENTS  

        1.    Gymnasium; basketball/volleyball

                a.    Clean bleachers    

                b.    Clean main gym floor

        2.    Cafeteria

                a.    Clean tables as needed.
                b.    Dust mop floor � wet mop spills.

        3.    Auditorium

               a.    Vacuum carpets after performances or assemblies.  Damp mop concrete.
               b.    Dust-mop orchestra pit; Damp mop as needed.

       
    F.    Check building for security prior to leaving

    G.    Check with the building principal for possible duties required during special activities.

    H.    Christmas Break, Spring Break, Summer:  Evening custodian will observe district-wide day schedule 
            unless activities require otherwise.  Coordinate/cooperate with other building custodians and building 
           and grounds supervisor to accomplish major tasks during these breaks.

    I.    Storage and Mechanical/Technology areas are shared by all building custodians.  These areas should
     receive attention during non-school days.  

    J.    This position will be responsible for seasonal activities.  Monitor activity calendar to properly
    schedule work areas.
