Position Overview
The operations assistant works closely with the operations team and leadership team to create a safe, supportive, and structured school community.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
School Culture:
- Provide administrative support including but not limited to answering phones, greeting visitors, data entry, and copies.
- Support teachers and other faculty in the school.
- Cover classes when requested.
- Support Deans and assistant deans with responding to classroom crisis.
- Perform duties related to recess duty.
- Perform related custodial services, as needed.
- Lead and escort small groups of students.
Breakfast & Lunch Duty
- Monitors scholars during breakfast and lunch ensuring all expectations are met.
- Monitors outdoor space when in use during lunch.
- Ensure the scholars leave the cafeteria promptly and maintain the cleanliness of the cafeteria.
Transportation
- Assists parents and school personnel with safe loading and unloading of students.
- Assist young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus. Assure that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion.
- Able to work in all weather.
- Ensure that students are only released to approve pick-up adults and verify the identification of each person.
Front Desk Management
- Station at the front desk to allow entry and exit to scholars and families to the school.
- Manage the front and back doors, if needed.
- Track all visitor passes.
Scholar Support
- Assisting scholar to the restroom and back to class.
- Supporting with the sign-in and sign-out booklets and passes.
- Picking up scholars who come late or are picked up early.
- And any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our Equaity's values.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds and with diverse learning profiles
- Ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively, creatively, and flexibly with students, staff, and families
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of and/or willingness to be trained in MTSS approaches
- Prior experience in a relevant role preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Suites
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Associate degree preferred
