Key Requirements and Qualifications

• Certification: Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Health and Physical Education (Grades K�12 or appropriate grade band) in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education guidelines (Bulletin 746).
• Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Health Education, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of teaching or coaching experience is frequently preferred.
• Content Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Louisiana Student Standards for Physical Education for grades 5�8, including physical fitness, motor skills development, team and individual sports, health concepts, and safety practices.
• Skills: Strong classroom and behavior management skills in active environments; ability to organize and supervise physical activities safely; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and engage students; and ability to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles.
