Job Summary
The Teacher Apprentice
Liaison is a part-time (10-month, August-May) grant funded position that focuses
on building strong, supportive relationships with teacher apprentices to foster
their professional growth and success in the classroom. Teacher apprentices are employed as teacher
assistants in Mississippi school districts while enrolled in USM’s online
elementary education coursework. The Teacher Apprentice Liaison serves as a key
support professional for these preservice teacher candidates, acting as a
consistent point of connection between the university and partnering school
districts and helping to ensure aligned expectations, responsive support, and improved
communication.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Master’s degree in elementary education, educational leadership, or closely related field.
Five years of classroom teaching experience in an elementary or closely-related classroom.
Reliable transportation is required for school visits within the assigned territory.
