    Position:  Multilingual/EL Teacher

    Reports to: Director for Multilingual Learners

    Location:  Therapeutic Day Schools/School Site 

    SUMMARY:
    Community Unit School District 200 is seeking a Multilingual teacher to provide English language development services to students in therapeutic settings.  The teacher will support multilingual learners with disabilities while promoting academic achievement and language acquisition. In addition, this position serves as a liaison between CUSD 200 and out of district programming at therapeutic day schools. Regular travel between locations is required.


    CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):
    Current Illinois Elementary Professional Educator License (PEL) with EL Endorsement/Approval


    QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: 

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
    • Demonstrated leadership capacity, including the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
    • Highly organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple sites and responsibilities
    • Experience working with multilingual learners in pull-out and/or specialized settings
    • Knowledge of WIDA standards, ACCESS, and screening tools (certification preferred)
    • Experience with or understanding of Special Education services and compliance (preferred)
    • Ability to utilize Google Meets or Zoom

    ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide English language development (ELD) services to multilingual learners in therapeutic day schools
    • Administer WIDA screeners and support ACCESS testing processes
    • Plan and deliver differentiated instruction aligned to students' language proficiency levels and individualized needs
    • Support multilingual learners with disabilities through targeted language instruction and scaffolding
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements for multilingual learners
    • Act as a liaison between families, therapeutic day schools, and the district to ensure clear communication for multilingual learners
    • Collaborate with special education teachers and related service providers
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for students served
    • Participate in professional development opportunities related to instruction and compliance
    • Travel regularly to various outplacement sites
    • Participate in IEP meetings
