We are looking for a new Head of Fixed Income Sales to succeed the current leadership and further develop our established institutional client and capital markets business.
As Head of Fixed Income Sales, you will lead the franchise, combining active client engagement with strategic leadership and commercial accountability.
What would your role be?
- Lead and manage the Fixed Income Sales team (5 FTEs), fostering a high-performance culture, mentoring talent, and ensuring strong collaboration across functions.
- Own the P&L of the Fixed Income business, including revenue generation, cost management, and budget planning/monitoring.
- Define and execute the strategic direction of the Fixed Income Sales franchise, ensuring sustainable growth and market relevance.
- Provide comprehensive sales coverage of the Fixed Income product range (government bonds, SSAs, covered bonds, corporate bonds, private placements, etc.).
- Maintain and further develop senior client relationships with key Swiss and international institutional investors, acting as a trusted partner.
- Take full responsibility for Lead Manager and syndicate roles in primary market transactions, driving execution and coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality market intelligence, investment ideas, and product updates to clients.
- Act as a key interface with internal stakeholders (trading, research, structuring, treasury, risk, compliance), ensuring seamless execution and best-in-class client service.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity to position the franchise competitively.
What are we looking for?
- Advanced education in banking / finance; university degree or CFA / FRM is a strong plus.
- Extensive experience (typically 8–12+ years) in Fixed Income Sales, with a strong focus on CHF markets.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and driving performance in a front-office environment.
- Demonstrated track record in revenue generation and client franchise development, with P&L responsibility preferred.
- Established and transferable client network among Swiss and international institutional investors.
- Deep understanding of fixed income products, primary and secondary markets, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to translate market opportunities into revenue.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with executive presence.
- Fluency in German (mandatory) and English; French and/or Italian is a strong asset.
- Entrepreneurial, team-oriented leader with the ability to perform under pressure and drive change.
