We design, install, and maintain high-quality solar energy systems across California and beyond. Join a growing team that's building a sustainable future — one rooftop at a time.

Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Solar Roof Lead to take ownership of the roofing and mounting phase of residential solar installations. In this role, you will lead roofing operations on job sites — ensuring roof prep, penetrations, flashing, and racking/mounting systems are installed safely and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on solar installation experience, understands various roofing types, and can direct other installers through the roof work portion of each project.

Key Responsibilities
● Lead and direct the roofing and mounting phase of residential solar panel installations
● Perform and oversee roof penetrations, flashing, waterproofing, and sealant application to prevent leaks
● Install racking and mounting systems (rail-based and rail-less) on composite shingle, tile, flat, and metal roofs
● Conduct roof condition assessments prior to installation; identify and report structural or safety concerns
● Lay out solar panel arrays per engineering designs and ensure proper alignment and spacing
● Ensure all roofing work complies with OSHA fall protection standards, local building codes, and company safety protocols
● Coordinate with Crew Leads and electricians to ensure seamless project workflow on site
● Train and mentor junior installers on proper roofing techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards
● Manage on-site roofing materials, tools, and equipment; communicate supply needs to supervisors
● Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites throughout the workday
● Drive company vehicles to and from job sites; maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs
● Complete daily job reports, safety checklists, and quality inspection documentation

Requirements
● Previous solar installation experience — REQUIRED
● Must be at least 21 years of age
● Valid state driver's license (clean driving record preferred)
● Ability to lift, pull, and push equipment and materials to complete assigned job tasks
● Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday
● Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on rooftops for extended periods
● Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work on feet for long periods of time
● Ability to work in extreme environments including hot sun, cold weather, rain, and crawl spaces
● Great attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Excellent customer service skills
● Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
● Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications
● Experience as a roof lead or solar roof specialist
● Knowledge of various roofing systems: composite shingle, concrete/clay tile, flat/TPO, standing seam metal
● OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
● NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification or equivalent solar credential
● Familiarity with NEC code, residential building codes, and solar permitting/inspection processes
● Fall protection and ladder safety training
● Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
