Job Description

Position Overview:
Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a compassionate 1:1 Paraprofessional to support a preschool student in an integrated classroom. The paraprofessional will assist the student in accessing the curriculum, participating in daily routines, and engaging with peers.


SALARY RANGE:
Commensurate with Unit C salary scale (Step 1: $26.06 per hour; Step 10: $31.23 per hour)


REPORTS TO:
Erin Manzi, Principal, Doyle Early Childhood Center


Responsibilities:



  • Provide individualized support throughout the school day

  • Support participation in play, centers, and group routines

  • Implement teacher- and specialist-directed strategies and accommodations

  • Assist with transitions and daily routines, including self-care as needed

  • Collaborate with classroom staff and related service providers


Qualifications:



  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and support toileting needs, including diapering and toilet training

  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a school setting

  • Ability to support students with a range of learning and physical needs

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills


Additional Information:
Position is in an integrated preschool classroom. Physical support, including lifting and mobility assistance, may be required.
