Position Title: Adjunct Faculty – Political Science Fall 2026/Spring 2027

Position Summary
Dominican University seeks a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach one course during the Fall 2026 semester and one during the Spring 2027 semester. Adjunct faculty are contracted on a course-by-course basis and are responsible for instructional delivery and student learning for assigned course sections. Courses may be offered in in-person, online, or hybrid format.
Course Assignments
- POSC 264 – Politics in Africa – Fall 2026
- POSC 367 – International Security & Conflict Resolution – Spring 2027
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in [discipline or closely related field]
- Demonstrated academic or professional expertise appropriate to the course subject matter
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior college-level teaching experience
- Experience using a learning management system (Canvas preferred)
- Relevant professional or applied experience in the field
Physical Demands
- Ability to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Salary and FLSA Status
Adjunct faculty are compensated on a per-course basis.
- Salary: $2800-$3200 (depending on degree attained and experience, particularly university-level instructor-of-record experience).
- FLSA Status: Exempt, Part-Time (Adjunct Faculty)
