Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Commercial Finance Manager - EMEA role is critical in supporting the Director of Finance – EMEA and the regional sales teams.  Helping drive financial planning, analysis, and performance management for our EMEA commercial operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance – EMEA, this role will help advance initiatives with senior leadership and global functions and brands to ensure alignment with corporate strategy, foster profitable growth, and optimize financial performance.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Participate in the development and implementation of EMEA commercial finance strategies, metrics, processes, and procedures that align with URUS’ global commercial objectives.
  • Provide support to EMEA to build strategies that drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and commercial cost optimization. 

 

Commercial Support

  • Serve as a partner to the regional sales and marketing teams, providing financial guidance on pricing strategies, and customer profitability.
  • Identify key areas for focus within the commercial space to improve performance to drive KPI’s.
  • Support financial evaluations for new market entries, product launches, distribution/direct decisions, and strategic initiatives through business case preparation and presentation.
  • Establish frameworks for measuring ROI/CCR improvement on commercial investments, promotions, and partnerships.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of commissions and compensation plans with URUS People.
  • Oversee the calculation of annual performance calculations compared to compensation frameworks to identify any potential improvements or developing issues.

 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Assist with coordination of the regional financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling for CCR. (Sales, Contribution Margin, and Selling and Marketing OPEX)
  • Support the cultivation of actionable insights in preparation of Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) for EMEA by analyzing both regional and brand performance. 
  • Provide support to the development of financial KPIs and dashboards to monitor and evaluate performance. 
  • Develop financial models to support decision-making, overall pricing strategies to drive cross-selling opportunities and business cases for new projects.
  • Work proactively with the controllership organization to provide actionable insights through in-depth financial analysis of key drivers, risks, and opportunities in regional commercial selling and marketing areas.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and governance across all regional commercial finance activities in compliance with local and global accounting standards.
  • Drive process improvements and leverage technology to streamline reporting and enhance decision-making for the regional commercial and marketing teams in keeping with global guidelines.
  • Support cross selling opportunity deal construction and revenue integrity relative to strategic regional commercial objectives.
  • Support regional commercial contracting with measured performance against targets, rebates, schemes, or performance metrics when evaluating distribution partners 
  • Work closely with third-party suppliers to ensure premier pricing and go to market strategies are aligned.  (Nedap, etc.)

 

Cost Control and Margin Management

  • Monitor costs related to commercial activities, ensuring that margins are optimized. 
  • Develop and assist with pricing frameworks for subscription bundling or alternative pricing strategies within markets. 
  • Oversee the pricing strategy and ensure it's aligned with market conditions and company objectives on all products and services.

 

ORGANIZATION ALIGNMENT & POSITION LOCATION

  • This position will report to the EMEA Director of Finance 
  • The position is based in Feerwerd, The Netherlands

 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field
  • Experience managing multi-location, multi-company (enterprise) finance program required. 
  • Experience managing complex projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in a multinational company with complex operations across diverse markets
  • Knowledge of financial systems and tools (e.g., Hyperion, JD Edwards or similar platforms).
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience in industries with complex sales cycles 

     

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage, influence, and educate at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to analyze claims and make appropriate recommendations and decisions to manage and resolve them.
  • Organized, flexible and easily adapt to and drive change; ability to adapt to different cultures and effectively influence and guide teams in different countries.
  • Execute decisions and actions after consideration of both URUS and company level objectives; ability to make confident, fact-based decisions balancing risk.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Ability to travel 30-35% and possess a valid driver’s license.
