Position Summary
The Banquet Manager is responsible for training, motivating, disciplining, directing, and supervising employees within the Banquet Department. This role develops and maintains ongoing training programs to ensure a high level of professionalism and service excellence. The Banquet Manager schedules staff to meet service standards while operating within budgeted labor cost guidelines and ensures the proper care, security, and maintenance of hotel equipment through effective supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all banquet and event operations to ensure exceptional service delivery and guest satisfaction
Coordinate with Sales, Events, Culinary, and Hotel Operations teams to execute successful events
Lead pre-event meetings and post-event reviews with staff and leadership as needed
Ensure banquet setups, service timing, and breakdowns align with event orders and client expectations
Monitor labor productivity and manage staffing levels to control costs while maintaining service standards
Enforce all safety, sanitation, and compliance standards, including food handling and workplace safety
Address and resolve guest concerns or service issues promptly and professionally
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions for banquet staff
Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new banquet team members
Maintain inventory, track equipment usage, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
Ensure all events comply with company policies, procedures, and service standards
Required Qualifications
Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
Experience in all aspects of banquet service
2–3 years of experience as an Assistant Banquet Manager or in a similar supervisory role
Excellent motivational, leadership, and training skills
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Experience managing complex group events in full-service hotels
Schedule & Work Environment
Full-time, in-person position
Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
This position requires the ability to perform the physical tasks associated with banquet and event operations. The Banquet Manager must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, up to eight (8) hours per shift. The role also requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
