Job Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.

Griffin residence is a spacious Victorian house located in a historic section of Catskill.  It is home to a married couple and four independent, energetic men, who like to stay busy, while learning the skills they need to gain as much control over their lives as possible.  Patience, energy, and creativity are necessary to work here, and if your interests include professional wrestling, X-Boxes, or The Three Stooges, you will enjoy sharing those hobbies at Griffin.  If you like being involved in the community and you have a strong desire to motivate, influence, and enrich the lives of others as they pursue their goals and ambitions, Griffin is a wonderful employment choice.

A high school diploma or GED is desired.  Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus.  An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must.  An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment.  Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
