Salary Band: Band 6

   

Salary Range: £47,860 - £57,635 BAR £59498 - £64,615 per annum 

   

Working Arrangements: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required for rare additional hours, including early evening clinics.

 



About the Role:

The States of Guernsey are looking for an Admiral Nurse to join the Community Health and Social Care Service.

The Admiral Nurse will support, deliver and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care within The States of Guernsey Health and Social Care in order to improve the experience of carers/families affected by dementia with complex needs.

In line with the Admiral Nurse Competency framework at a specialist level, the post holder will provide:

• Specialist bio-psychosocial assessment and support for people with dementia and families with complex needs
• Facilitation of education and training for staff in the delivery of evidence-based dementia care
• Support with policy development and quality improvements in relation to dementia care
• Consultancy to other health and social care professionals regarding dementia

Job Description

This role comes with a competitive salary, progressive annual leave and entitlement to a pension scheme. We will also consider previous service in a substantive post in the NHS or Local Authority towards entitlement to annual leave, maternity leave and sick pay.   

 

Special Duty: Pay enhancements of 36% and 72% are payable for work carried out in unsocial hours in line with policy.  

 

Annual Bonus: Staff who are in post on 31 January will receive a lump sum payment every February. 

 

Relocation: For candidates needing to relocate to the Bailiwick of Guernsey for the post, we offer a relocation package to help with the cost of moving over to the Island. This relocation package offers different solutions depending on an individual’s circumstances.

Employment Permit: This role offers eligible off-Island candidates an 8-year Long Term Employment Permit, subject to UK and Guernsey Immigration Clearance where applicable. This permit enables candidates to bring immediate family members with them who will be permitted to work on the Island in any sector. There are also good schools on Island for those candidates looking to bring their families with them.

Accommodation: The Long-Term Employment Permit enables staff to either rent or buy local market accommodation. Subsidised staff accommodation is also available as single occupancy units.
