Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direction to cashiers and stewards regarding breaks, holding them accountable for being on time for breaks and reporting to the front on time.
- Assists with resolving service issues and ensures maximum service coverage at registers based on customer flow.
- Keeps apprised of Front End goals and initiatives and assists in ensuring these initiatives are carried out during the assigned shifts.
- Responsible for coordinating with Curbside staff to ensure customer satisfaction, order accuracy and order completion.
- Provides hands on training for FE staff members on register functions and FE duties.
- Maintains exceptional communication with other Lead Cashiers, Managers and Front End personnel.
- Responsible for consistent delivery of our proactive customer service model.
- Assist in keeping lines at the registers at a minimum.
- Deploys co-op steward labor in an efficient and consistent manner as needed in the department and store.
- Responsible for getting cashiers’ tills ready for arrival and making sure tills are counted in a timely manner.
- Assists in the monetary operations of the Front End.
- Reports product, procedure, and customer service inconsistencies to Manager.
- Provides support to cashiers for overrides at the register, as needed.
- Responsible for covering the service desk, when needed.
- Demonstrates leadership skills at all levels and leads by example.
- Performs transactions accurately and within a reasonable timeframe.
- Finds appropriate tasks in periods of down time.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of FE register areas, customer restrooms, service desk and high traffic customer areas in the FE.
- Provides attentive, timely, and friendly service to all, at all times.
- Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the co-op.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
PREREQUISITES
- High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a retail environment.
- A minimum of one (1) year’s experience and familiarity with natural foods.
- Supports the co-op’s core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
- Adapts readily based on evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
- Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with POS systems.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends.
- Ability to push and pull and maintain control of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (approximately 20°F – 90°F).
- Ability to stand for long periods at a time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Reliable access to transportation.
