The Salvation Army EastView Residence is an Independent Senior Living facility located in the East Harlem section of Manhattan. Residents are provided with living accommodations in studio and one-bedroom units in a modern building facility completed in 2019.
The Salvation Army EastView Residence is seeking a friendly, outgoing and professional individual responsible for front desk reception duties, answering and directing calls, delivering messages, greeting guests and performing the responsibilities noted.
Responsibilities:
- Sort and distribute mail. Process packages
- Send and Receive Faxes charging the appropriate fee as applicable
- Answer and transfer phone calls
- Handle requests for maintenance and repair work orders
- Prepare and replace access room cards for residents
- Maintain records lists and rosters up to date
- Assist in filing and record-keeping
- Assist with Marketing duties as needed
- Make copies for staff and residents charging the appropriate fee as applicable
- Perform clerical and other duties as assigned by management
- Communicate with security personnel any disturbances requiring intervention, and notify management of any situations requiring their intervention
- Call 911 in case of any emergencies
- Assist with digital and printed notices as required
- Keep track of residents’ overnight visitors including arrival and departure dates
- Maintain “Informed Consent and Waiver of Liability” Forms for residents participating in fitness activities and programs
- Be the center of information assisting residents as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High level of professionalism and personal standard of a positive attitude, behavior and appearance
- Must be able to communicate effectively and provide outstanding service with the ability to speak clearly and distinctly
- Be sensitive to resident needs and the ability to build positive relationships
- Able to prioritize, organize, problem solve and meet deadlines and goals
- Able to deal with emergencies calmly and effectively
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One-year experience in a receptionist/customer service-related position
- Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others
- Must possess strong work ethics, honesty and integrity
- Must have effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities
- Must have proficiency in Word, Excel and in designing printed and digital material
