Description
- Knowledge of the working relationship Radiology has with other ERMC departments, physicians' offices, and other health care facilities.
- Utilizes basic and Radiology specific office equipment.
- Clearly and effectively communicates with patients regarding appointments, preparation instructions, and sign-out information. Seeks out technologists and/or physicians as resources of information for patients.
- Adjusts appointments to accurately reflect scheduling nuances like special patient needs, staffing, or appointment conflicts.
- Assists with sign-ins, sign-outs, filing, and other office procedures.
- Stocks and supplies forms for procedures, procedure preparations, patient histories, and other hospital and Radiology specific forms.
- Assists technologists when needed with patient observation, transport and transfer.
Requirements
BLS required within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment. High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
Summary
Answers telephones, schedules and prepares patients, and performs other related office tasks within the Radiology Department. Exhibits excellent initiative, learns quickly, and is able to prioritize a busy workload. Is a dependable member of the Radiology and Hospital team. Maintains professional appearance, conduct, and communication. Has the ability to work independently with little supervision. Identifies health and safety concerns and unsafe work practices within the workplace. Is involved in developing safe work practices and is held accountable for the day to day efforts of ensuring a safe workplace by following safe work practices.
