Summary:
The Lead Human Resources (HR) Specialist leads the administration of the day-to-day operations of the HR Specialist functions and duties. The Lead HR Specialist partners with management to support staff, organization-wide, by guiding HR Specialist with complex and specialized administrative tasks in the following functional areas: customer service, department administration, training and development, recruitment, benefits and compensation, and workplace relations. The Lead HR Specialist also leads the HR Specialist team, guiding their development and ensuring HR Shared Services processes are streamlined and aligned with organizational policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Leads the daily operations of the HR Shared Services team, ensuring smooth and efficient handling of employee inquiries, onboarding, and administrative processes.

 

Manage and escalate complex employee relations concerns, providing guidance to HR Specialists on effective resolution strategies while ensuring compliance with company policies.

 

Leads and coordinates collaboration for the onboarding process, including scheduling, background checks, and new hire orientation, ensuring all pre-employment requirements are met and records are accurately maintained.

 

Maintains oversight of employee files, badging systems, and background clearances to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, while safeguarding the confidentiality of HR records.

 

Collaborates with Shared Services management on projects and audits, while cross-training HR Specialist on key processes such as onboarding, new hire orientation, audits, to build team proficiency.

 

Assists in developing and executing employee engagement strategies, facilitating positive employee relations, and addressing workforce concerns proactively.

 

Identifies areas for improvement in HR processes and systems, implementing best practices to streamline operations and enhance service delivery across all HR functions.

 

Submitting requisitions for inventory and supplies.

  • Knowledge of customer services concepts and practices.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

An associate’s degree in Business or related field. Progressively responsible professional/exempt work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Non-supervisory – Three (3) years human resources experience. Equivalent education, training, or similar experience may be substituted for relevant experience.

 

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), Security Awareness training: General role, within 30 days of employment start date.
