We are a rapidly growing organization seeking an experienced Test Engineer to play a key role in supporting over 80+ systems within the FEMA enterprise. The systems span various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile, Hybrid-Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD. The engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing manual and automated testing to ensure software quality across diverse platforms and development lifecycles. This position is hybrid with 2-3 days onsite in Bluemont, VA.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated minimum of five (5) years of experience testing systems using Agile, Agile-Hybrid, DevSecOps, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, RAD, or Test-Driven Development methodologies
  • Experience planning, developing, and executing both manual and automated test activities, including functional, integration, regression, and data validation testing supporting system release readiness
  • Demonstrated ability to work with business stakeholders and technical teams to develop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria aligned to system requirements and traceability expectations
  • Experience identifying, documenting, tracking, and supporting resolution of defects, while proactively identifying risks and escalating issues to management
  • Experience supporting development and execution of automated test scripts and contributing to automation frameworks within CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with: Functional testing tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT) , API testing tools (e.g., SoapUI or equivalent), Performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) , Test management tools (e.g., Jira, ALM, Xray, Confluence) 
  • Experience operating within Agile and DevSecOps environments, supporting sprint-based delivery, continuous integration, and continuous testing
  • Basic knowledge or experience supporting Section 508 accessibility testing, reporting, and scanning tools
  • Experience supporting testing activities in modern environments, including cloud-based or SaaS platforms and integrated systems 

Preferred Certifications

  • ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level) 
  • Certified Agile Tester (or equivalent Agile certification)
  • CompTIA Security+ 
  • DHS Certified 508 Tester 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Work Environment

  • Hybrid 2-3 days onsite at government facility. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
