- Starting Salary: $83,720.00
- After Six Months of Successful Employment: $85,384.00
- After One Year of Successful Employment: $87,048.00
- Maximum salary is achieved after four successful years of employment.
Position Duties
Minimum Qualifications
- Be a citizen of the United States or resident alien with the right to work in the United States; and
- Have a high school diploma or valid equivalency certificate; and
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver's license; and
- Have or be eligible for a mechanic contractor license from the State of Michigan within one year of hiring; and
- Have experience supervising a minimum staffing level of ten individuals across the three disciplines of HVAC, electrical, or plumbing; and
- Have one of the following:
- An associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technical program, energy management, building operations, and maintenance or a closely related field; or
- A minimum of five years of full-time paid professional, administrative, and managerial experience overseeing the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and utility systems related to buildings and recreational facilities; or
- A State of Michigan certification in Journeyman or Master level experience in a dual combination of Plumbing, Electrical, or HVAC (must have two of three)
In the event the number of qualified applicants exceeds ten, an evaluation of the applications will be made and the ten applicants with the most relevant combination of education, experience, and training will be invited to the interview.

- Methods, materials and tools used in building maintenance
- Preventive maintenance procedures
- Operating principles of the functional units of buildings, i.e., plumbing, electrical, heating or air conditioning, etc
- Personnel relations and management skills
- Read and interpret blue prints of building projects, construction, electrical, and plumbing codes as they apply to current assignments
- Follow written and oral instructions
- Adapt and improve methods and procedures used in performing assignments
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees
