Job Summary:
We’re looking for a solid all‑around equipment operator to work at our tire recycling facility in Prineville OR, this is hands‑on work, building and maintaining modules, keeping the working face right and compliant with DEQ requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Running a mix of equipment, including but not limited to.
- Excavators
- Front‑end loaders
- D8 size dozer
- Motor grader
- Water trucks
- On‑site haul trucks
- Building and shaping monofill modules for proper waste placement and compaction of tire waste.
- Keeping grades, slopes, and working faces where they need to be.
- Supporting compaction by maintaining access, lift thickness, and traffic flow.
- Running water truck for dust control and ultimate compaction of module walls and fire breaks.
- Maintaining haul roads and work areas so haul trucks can move safely and have gained access to the module for disposal of waste material.
- Doing daily equipment walk‑arounds and basic maintenance.
- Speaking up about equipment issues, safety concerns, or site problems.
- Working outside year‑round — dust, wind, heat, cold, mud, and freeze‑ups are part of the job
Required Skills/Abilities
- 3–5+ years running heavy equipment, safely and preferably in a landfill or monofill setting
- Comfortable running multiple machines
- Experience working around active disposal areas, open pits
- Know how to read grade
- Safe operator who looks out for themselves and others
- Can work independently and take direction when needed
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to pass required drug and safety screenings
Education and Experience:
- Landfill or monofill experience
- Experience with Oregon DEQ‑regulations
- OSHA or MSHA training
- Mechanical common sense
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Long hours in the seat
- Climbing in and out of equipment throughout the shift
- Outdoor work in all weather
- Some overtime and weekends depending on site needs
