Job Description

We are seeking a skilled VTL CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in CNC programming and machining, with a focus on Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs). This role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to produce complex, high-quality components according to engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) and other CNC equipment to machine large, complex parts
  • Perform CNC and CAM programming to support efficient and accurate production runs
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements
  • Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles in all machining processes
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs to verify part accuracy
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes using lean manufacturing methods
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment (including forklifts when required)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
  • This is a SWING SHIFT position and offer a shift differential of $4.00/hr

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with VTL experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and familiarity with CAM software
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with precision measurement and inspection tools
  • Basic math skills for measurements, offsets, and adjustments
  • Experience with plastics injection molding or EDM is a plus
  • Knowledge of welding and assembly processes is beneficial
  • Forklift experience or willingness to be trained
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Full-time
  • Night Shift / Overnight Shift preferred
