Job Description

About Willbanks Metals, Inc.

Willbanks Metals, Inc. (WMI) is one of the most diverse
steel service centers in the Southwest United States, serving customers for
over 50 years. Known for superior service and unmatched integrity, our
family-owned and operated business focuses on respect and reliability toward
employees, customers, and suppliers. WMI fills large-scale steel distribution
and fabrication needs, providing an array of products and services that other
suppliers cannot match.  We are currently
investing in an enterprise-wide operational transformation, applying data
systems and process discipline to modernize how we manage logistics,
production, and inventory across our facilities.

Role Summary

This is a high-impact role at the center of
WMI's operational transformation. The Process Engineer will design and optimize
production and logistics processes, establish process controls, and lead
continuous improvement across our operations. You will partner directly with
Operations, Fabrication, Distribution, Maintenance, Quality, and Sales
leadership to drive measurable gains in throughput, safety, and cost. This role
is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable on the shop floor and in front
of data, who understands that sustainable improvement requires both disciplined
process design and strong relationships with the people doing the work.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current-state processes and develop future-state
workflows to improve throughput, safety, and quality.

• Design and implement process controls, standard work, and
visual management to reduce variation and waste.

• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives (5S/Lean/Kaizen),
including data collection, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.

• Troubleshoot bottlenecks and equipment/process issues in
partnership with Maintenance and Production leaders.

• Build time studies and capacity models; recommend
staffing, tooling, and layout changes to achieve takt/throughput targets.

• Partner with operational technology and data systems teams
to validate process data, support system requirements, and translate
floor-level observations into actionable improvements.

• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training
materials; coach operators/supervisors on new standards.

• Partner with Quality to support audit readiness and
adherence to applicable codes and customer requirements.

• Track results (OEE, scrap/rework, yield, cycle time) and
present progress to plant leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, Industrial,
Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.

• Demonstrated experience in process design and process
control within manufacturing; steel or heavy fabrication experience is a plus.

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Google
Sheets; familiarity with statistical methods and basic SPC.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities;
hands-on approach on the shop floor.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to
influence without authority and train operators/supervisors.

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to Lean/6S, value-stream mapping, and
time/capacity studies.

• Experience introducing new equipment or processes,
including trials and PFMEA/Control Plan development.

• Understanding of steel service center/fabrication
processes (cutting, forming, welding, material handling).

What We Offer

• Impact role with visibility to plant leadership and
cross-functional teams.

• Competitive compensation and benefits package.

• A culture built on respect, reliability, and long-term
customer relationships.

Location & Schedule

Fort Worth, TX (on-site). Standard plant schedule with
flexibility for production support as needed.
